Just had my first ever Reiki session yesterday with Laurie! Her healing space is very warm and inviting. She is very well spoken, and has so much knowledge on her realm of practice, that she was happy to share. In terms of the reiki itself, I went in knowing and believing that it would work. I detached from the outcome, and went in with respect and an open mind. The areas I felt the energy post powerfully, were in my solar plexus, crown, and third eye charka. I could feel a rush of heat in these areas, like I’ve never felt before. When Laurie placed her hands gently on my third eye, I felt a big rush of heat/energy and out of nowhere, I burst out crying. It wasn’t sad or happy tears, but a release she called it. She gave me obsidian, a grounding crystal to hold on to, and she let me take it home! Interestingly, throughout the session I could feel my body unable to relax fully because it’s still in fight or flight mode, and not in a parasympathetic state. Also, I was being reminded of different memories from my childhood that I have never thought of before, and kept on hearing you are safe. Afterwards, she pulled some cards for me that were very accurate because they related to a story I had told her about myself. I left the session with so much mental clarity. I drove home realizing different things about myself and I was able to think easier. I had a lightness about me. I will definitely be going back to Laurie, and I am excited to learn more about reiki.
