My spiritual path has taken many detours over the years, but one truth has always remained: my angels have never left my side—even when I wasn’t ready to listen.
With over 70 years of life experience and a background rooted in fitness, I’ve witnessed the wellness industry transform in incredible ways. As a certified Boxing Coach and trainer, my husband and I ran a successful, vibrant boxing club that helped many find strength and confidence through movement.
But life had other plans. A series of knee surgeries became a turning point, guiding me inward—toward healing, stillness, and something much deeper. That journey led me to Reiki and to my dear friend and mentor, Fiona Newman—Irish Mystic and Spiritual Counsellor. From that moment, everything shifted.
Becoming a Reiki Master Teacher opened the door to a richer spiritual path, and I’ve never looked back. Today, I am a Holistic Health Practitioner, offering a blend of energy-based healing modalities including Reiki, Animal Reiki, Oracle Card Readings, Angel Guidance, and Crystal Energy Healing. One of the 21 Reiki Master’s taught by Hawayo Takato is Beth Gary from Redwood, California.
One of the 21 Reiki Master’s taught by Hawayo Takato taught Arthur Roberston from Florida.
Rev. Faye Smith took Reiki I Degree and Reiki II Degree from Beth Gary.
Bernie Morin of Peterborough worked with Phyllis Lei Furumoto and trained Sandra O’Brien Reiki I Degree and Reiki II Degree.
Arthur Robertson also worked with Phyllis Lei Furumoto who is one of the 21 Reiki Master’s and is currently Grand Master of Reiki within the Reiki Alliance, whose charge is to maintain Reiki in its original teachings.
Phyllis Lei Furumoto is the granddaughter of Hawayo Takoto (who is the first person from outside Japan to be taught Reiki by Dr. Mikao Usui and is responsible for bringing Reiki to North America.)
Rick and Emma Ferguson from Houston took Reiki Master training from Arthur Robertson.
Rev. Faye Smith from Spring Texas took Reiki Master training from Rick and Emma Ferguson.
Rev. Judy Preston from Toronto took Reiki Master training from Rev. Faye Smith, May 1992.
Nisso Laredo took Reiki Master training in Toronto from Rev. Judy Preston in January 1993.
Sandra O’Brien from Lakefield took Reiki Master training from Nisso Laredo.
Fiona Newman took Reiki I Degree training from Reiki Master Carol Baltkains in October 1997, Reiki II and Reiki Master training from Sandra O’Brien in January 2003.
I received all of my Reiki training from Fiona Newman and completed my Reiki Masters in February 2024.
